What is Pink October?

Pink October is a global campaign held every October to raise awareness about breast cancer — its prevention, early detection, and support for those affected.
It’s often called Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

During this month, individuals, communities, and organizations come together to:

  • Encourage regular breast check-ups and early screening

  • Support breast cancer patients and survivors

  • Raise funds for research and treatment

  • Spread hope and solidarity through events, talks, and charity activities

The colour pink represents hope, compassion, and support for everyone affected by breast cancer.

 What is the Pink Ribbon?

The pink ribbon is the international symbol of breast cancer awareness.

It stands for:

  • Support for people battling breast cancer

  • Remembrance of those who lost their lives to it

  • Commitment to finding a cure

You’ll often see people wearing pink ribbons or using pink-themed decorations, especially in October — to show unity, love, and encouragement to breast cancer survivors and their families.
